After the Bloom Necklace
A daylily branch and its sculptural seedpods are preserved in copper in this one-of-a-kind electroformed necklace. Their ridged surfaces, rounded forms, and natural irregularities remain visible beneath the metal, transforming a fleeting botanical fragment into a lasting piece of wearable sculpture.
A raw amethyst is set near the branch, adding a vivid violet accent against the warm copper and darker patinated recesses. The contrast between the crystalline stone and the organic botanical form gives the piece a quiet sense of tension: delicate and rugged, earthy and luminous.
Suspended from a green waxed cotton cord, the pendant has a graceful vertical line that lets the daylily’s post-bloom structure remain the focus. Unconventional and deeply rooted in the natural world, the necklace honors a stage of the flower that is often overlooked: the moment after blooming, when the architecture of the plant is fully revealed.
